Want to get involved?
Is a Family
Matrix is not just the staff who work with us day-to-day, but it’s the volunteers who give selflessly, our generous donors and tireless fundraisers and the churches and individuals who support the work in prayer.
And of course it’s also the young people of Guildford Borough who we work with each day.
If you don’t feel a part of what we’re doing with young people right now, we’d love you to join us – why don’t you try this:
Youth hubs were a good influence on me when I was a teenager and now I have the privilege of passing that on to others.
Chris, Youth Hub Volunteer
We are always looking for enthusiastic people to join our youth hub and after-school teams. If you can help us, we can provide you with training, support and parties!
Can you spare a few hours a week to hang out with young people, playing games, doing cooking or listening to them? There are so many different projects to get involved with, both face-to-face and behind the scenes, just email to find out more, or check out our vacancies.
Volunteering with Matrix is both fun and rewarding; meeting amazing people and having the opportunity to support them and see the positive impact you can have on their lives.
Lindsey, Matrix Volunteer
If you’d like to meet the team, or visit our projects and then go and tell others about it, we’d love to speak to you. We’re looking for Ambassadors who want to become part of the family and that have the confidence to share some of our stories with others. Could this be you?
We rely on the generous donations of individuals and communities to enable us to continue running and developing our provision, as well as increasing the number of young people we work with. So, if you’d like to run a race, hold a bake sale or jump out of a plane, raising vital funds for Matrix while you do, then we’d be happy to support you!
Knowing every penny we raised helps to make a young person’s life better made all the cold and pain has been worth it! Katie, Grim Runner 2016
Matrix offer a number of ways to support our young people, both individually and in groups, which means that everyone can get access to a Youth Worker should they need it. Rob Giles, Assistant Headteacher, George Abbot
We love Matrix because of their dedication to support needy young people at a vulnerable time, giving them hope and purpose for life, where there is often no one to talk to or nowhere to go.
Hum and Rosemary Temple
We value and appreciate every gift we receive from our generous supporters. By donating monthly, though, we can plan ahead and ensure projects are sustainable, providing continuity for young people when times are hard.
Here’s an example:
£25 gave Chloe a chance to tell her story
Break the silence with the gift of a 1:1 pastoral session
£50 meant she learnt ways to cope, but not on her own
Break the silence with regular sessions and techniques to help
£100 and she’s gained control of her own life
Break the silence with a youth worker to give confidence and hope
